TL;DR Guide for Bennett

A guide by 2Board_on reddit who has given permission for us to post this - you can find the original guide on reddit here.

It is intended to be a brief overview of the strengths/weaknesses of the character, with the authors own opinions on the best currently available gear to pair with the character.

Overview & Passive

PSA #1:

A DPS is a muscle head. They need muscles and nothing else, but they can't get gains without that protein shake. Your team is that protein shake, and your damage is that muscle.

PSA #2:

Both Bennett's abilities scale off ATK. He may be seen as a Diluc wannabe, but boy oh boy DO HE SLAP HARD. Someone pick up their boy before they annoy me to death.

Passive

It Should Be Safe...

When dispatched on an expedition in Mondstadt, time consumed is reduced by 25%.

E - Passion Overload

PSA #3:

Tap E is recommended for quickly charging your burst, as charging DOES NOT guarantee more energy regeneration + has a longer cooldown. Hold E is tolerable once you have Q out.

Also: the knockback from Charge Level 2 is ignored if Benny has a shield.

Rekindle

Decreases Passion Overload's CD by 20%.

Lowers E CD.

He basically nuts. Tap E to do a single pyro slash. Hold E to charge for a c-c-c-c-combo breaker. Holding E will do 2 uppercut slashes and a down smash explosion.

Q - Fantastic Voyage

Here's the quick breakdown:

  1. Q will do pyro damage in a large AoE around Benny.

  2. If character HP is EQUAL OR BELOW 70%, they will heal based off Benny's HP.

  3. If character HP is ABOVE 70%, they will ATK buff based off Benny's BASE ATK.

  4. Applies pyro proc on character.

PSA #4:

THE BUFF IS NOT A 70% ATK BUFF. It means 70% of Benny's base ATK is given to the character on the field.

EXAMPLE: You have a level 60 Benny, you're running a level 60 Skyrider Sword, and your Q is level 4.

  1. Level 60 Benny has a base ATK of 126. Level 60 Skyrider Sword adds 234 base ATK.

  2. You would have a total of 360 base ATK (you can check what this is by clicking on details).

  3. Q buff is based off that white number. So 360 base ATK * .70 = 252 ATK bonus.

Fearnaught

Within the area created by Fantastic Voyage, Passion Overload takes on the following effects:

  • CD is reduced by 50%.
  • Bennett will not be launched by the effects of Charge Level 2.

Basically use your hold E to your heart's content after Q.

Weapons

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for Benny DPS): Festering Desire

How do I get it D: ? - Dragonspine Storyline

Has base Energy Recharge scaling and essentially makes E into a burning whip + you get Q faster.

WEAPON #2 (Recommended for early Benny blasts): Harbinger of Dawn

How do I get it D: ? - You get one from Kaeya, but rest from gacha.

Has base CRIT DMG scaling and turns Benny into a CRIT machine.

Festering Desire is essentially still the best option for both DPS and Support, due to it's weapon skill, absurd amount of energy regeneration, and the fact the event provides free refinement and leveling materials.

Favonius Sword, Sacrificial Sword, and at early levels Fillet Blade are also great alternativesif you don't have Festering Desire yet.

ARTIFACTS

ARTIFACT #1 (Recommended for a big thumbs up): Crimson Witch + Noblesse Oblige

How do I get it D: ? - Crimson Witch at Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula Domain (AR 30 locked, 20 Resin per run). Noblesse Oblige at Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern Domain (AR 35 locked, 20 Resin per run).

Crimson Witch - Makes E and Q hurt a lot.

Noblesse Oblige - Q does big boom.

There is a really odd Phys DMG DPS Bennett build that uses Aquila Favonia + 4-set Gladiator's, but it's just for giggles. Highly recommend just going with the artifacts above if you just want to spam Q and nuke people.

ARTIFACT #2 (Recommended for overkill support): Noblesse Oblige

How do I get it D: ? - Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern Domain (AR 35 locked, 20 Resin per run).

Makes Q hurt a lot, but Benny can spam his Q, so works as 2x buff mule.

You can also run The Exile set if you can't farm for Noblesse Oblige yet / hungry for energy recharge.

Summary

Main stats: ATK% Sands / Pyro DMG% Goblet / CRIT% or CRIT DMG Circlet

Substats: CRIT% > CRIT DMG > ATK > EM

Run ER% Sands / HP% Goblet / Healing Bonus% Circlet if you want to go Support!
