Artifacts & Sets
Artifacts are the replacement for armor sets in Genshin Impact. You will find various sets throughout your gameplay, and with every new world rank you unlock, there will be stronger sets to discover.
A character has 5 unique slots to equip artifacts in, which will require 1 each of the following:
- Circlet of Logos (Crit)
- Goblet of Eonothem (DMG Bonus %)
- Flower of Life (HP)
- Plume of Death (ATK)
- Sands of Eon (Elemental)
Finding and wearing a set can result in a 2-piece or 4-piece bonus, depending on the set.
You can find a list of all artifacts and sets here:

Upgrades & Stats
Artifact stats are mainly random, so be prepared for some grinding sessions for a godroll artifact.
They are split into the typical 1-5 star category, which are:
- 1 Star = maximum Lv 4
- 2 Star = maximum Lv 4
- 3 Star = maximum Lv 12
- 4 Star = maximum Lv 16
- 5 Star = maximum Lv 20
Endgame artifact sets can have multiple star ranking versions. The higher the ranking, the higher the level you can upgrade it to (see above), but the set bonus will not change regardless of the artifact's star rank.
Grind
Most of the set items can be found by the following methods:
- Drop from chests while exploring the world
- Drop from completing Domains - often 2-3 sets are in the loot pool
The Artifact Set list will show you which Domain you have to clear to get a chance of a specific set dropping as a reward.
With the current state of the game, you cannot upgrade the star ranking of an artifact (e.g. 3 star to a 4 star). Re-rolling a stat slot is not possible at the moment.
Drop Rate
Domain
The droprates for 5* artifacts seem to be at 10% on AR40 Domains and go up to 100% at AR45. At AR45, 5* artifacts have a 5% chance to drop twice.
World Boss
The dropdates for 5* artifacts at world bosses (40 Resin) seem to be around 20% on AR40 and 50% at AR45.
Domain World Boss (Stormterror & Andrius)
The dropdates for 5* artifacts here seem to be at 100% at AR40 and 20% at AR45 to drop twice.
Selection And Build
There is always the same question: Which is the best set? And the answer we can give you is: There is none.
In the end it always depends on your build on physical damage on regular attack chains or active and charged elemental skills. Most of the time it is better to focus on one of these two and then you also have to think about the active time of your character. Do you just switch in and cast something or does this character get 90% uptime in combat?
For support switch-in casters, elemental oriented builds are always the way to go, except special stat-related healers like Barbara, where you have to focus on HP.
On your main damage dealer, you have to check out how your playstyle is. Do you prefer charged attacks? Is the charged attack physical or elemental by nature? The mainstat on artifacts are important, and the substats are somewhat "less" important, since you will have your mainstat upgraded guaranteed on pushing the artifact. Substat rolling is pure rng after that and you should maybe stop upgrading it if you got bad rolls already and two further bad rolls on +8.
Physical Focus
Always check your character mainstat (the 4th stat on the ascension table) and decide your build by this. A proper CRIT RATE (30%+) is always nice in combination with CRIT DMG (90%+).
- Flower of Life > Substat Rolling ATK/CRT
- Plume of Death > Substat Rolling ATK/CRT
- Sands of Eon > ATK %
- Goblet of Eonothem > Physical ATK %
- Circlet of Logos > ATK % or CRIT RATE %
Elemental Focus
Always check your character mainstat (the 4th stat on the ascension table) and decide your build by this. If you focus on charged elemental attack, try to focus on CRIT, or try to get a high EM pool.
- Flower of Life > Substat Rolling CRT/EM
- Plume of Death > Substat Rolling CRT/EM
- Sands of Eon > ATK %
- Goblet of Eonothem > Character Main Element ATK %
- Circlet of Logos > ATK % or CRIT RATE %
