Quick Guide to "Astute Amusement"

Author: Toby | Featured Character: Yae Miko | Element Type: Electro | Game Version 2.5.0

Intro

Yae Miko was one of the most anticipated characters Genshin had to offer in the last year. Since her arrival in the story she gathered a healthy fan following- and rightfully so, with a charming personality, design, and teases of her capabilities as a character. While she isn't top tier in a main DPS slot, Guuji Yae is a powerful sub-DPS when built correctly and a useful off-field addition to many team comps.

Mainguide

Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura — Elemental Skill [E]

To Yae, such dull tasks as can be accomplished by driving spirits out need not be done personally.
Moves swiftly, leaving a Sesshou Sakura behind.

Sesshou Sakura

  • Periodically strikes one nearby opponent with lightning, dealing Electro DMG.
  • When there are other Sesshou Sakura nearby, their level will increase, boosting the DMG dealt by these lightning strikes.
  • This skill has three charges.
A maximum of 3 Sesshou Sakura can exist simultaneously. The initial level of each Sesshou Sakura is 1, and the initial highest level each sakura can reach is 3. If a new Sesshou Sakura is created too close to an existing one, the existing one will be destroyed.

With a miniscule cooldown of 4 seconds and the multifunctions, you're going to want to keep three of these on the field constantly as you use Miko- keep in mind that if you use Miko in multiplayer worlds, the limit of 3 Sesshou Sakuras is shared, meaning that there can only be 3 even if other Mikos try to add more. Each strike to an enemy from a sakura generates one elemental particle. The attacks from the sakuras auto-aim to the nearest enemy.

Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin — Elemental Burst [Q]

Legends of "kitsunetsuki," or the manifestations of a kitsune's might, are common in Inazuma's folktales. One that particularly captures the imagination is that of the Sky Kitsune, said to cause lightning to fall down upon the foes of the Grand Narukami Shrine. Summons a lightning strike, dealing AoE Electro DMG.
When she uses this skill, Yae Miko will unseal nearby Sesshou Sakura, destroying their outer forms and transforming them into Tenko Thunderbolts that descend from the skies, dealing AoE Electro DMG. Each Sesshou Sakura destroyed in this way will create one Tenko Thunderbolt.

Despite the burst's high energy cost (90), it packs a punch when you have all three sakura turrets on field, especially when paired with supports like Bennett or Xiangling for overload. It's recommended that you have the turrets constantly on field even if you aren't using Miko's burst, as it provides constant electro damage.

Passives: The Shrine's Sacred Shade, Enlightened Blessing & Meditations of a Yako

The Shrine's Sacred Shade resets the cooldown for 1 charge of Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura when casting Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin for each Sesshou Sakura destroyed.

Enlightened Blessing increasse Sesshou Sakura DMG by 0.15% for every point of Elemental Mastery Yae Miko has.

Meditations of a Yako gives a 25% chance to get 1 regional Character Talent Material (base material excluded) when crafting. The rarity is that of the base material.

Thoughts on Talents

C0 - Works just fine without cons, though ER can be more of a problem.

C1 - Amazing constellation if you have problems with keeping her ult charged.

C2 - Helpful for off-field and a good point to stop on if you're a light spender. Increases Yae's elemental damage.

C3 - Bonus Talent levels are always good.

C4 - Very useful if you pair Yae with another electro character like the Raiden Shogun.

C5 - Bonus Talent levels are always good.

C6 - Another very helpful constellation if you want Yae's personal damage to increase, but has a high primo investment.
